The short version: browse and remix freely, respect each app's license, and don't abuse the site.

What makebase is

makebase.app is a free gallery of working web apps. Each listing links to the app's maker and source, can be tried in a live preview, and can be opened in a building tool as a starting point for your own project. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Using the site

You're welcome to browse, try previews, and remix any listed app. Please don't:

• try to break out of the preview sandbox, attack the site, or probe it for weaknesses without reporting what you find,
• send automated traffic that overloads the site or inflates remix counts,
• submit apps you don't have the right to share, or content that is illegal, deceptive, or malicious.

Listed apps and their licenses

Every listed app belongs to its maker and is published under its own open-source license, shown on its page. makebase does not grant any rights beyond that license. When you remix an app, you are responsible for following its license, which usually means keeping its copyright and license notice.

Previews are for trying, not relying on

Previews are sandboxed copies for exploring. They may be reset, changed, or removed at any time, and anything you enter can be lost. Don't use them for real work or type personal information into them.

Other services

Remix buttons open other services such as Bolt, Replit, Claude, or GitHub. Those services have their own terms, and makebase is not responsible for them.

Submitting your app

When you submit an app, you confirm that you made it or have the right to share it, and that its code can be published under an open license (MIT unless you tell us otherwise). If we list it, you allow makebase to:

• host a sandboxed copy with secrets and personal data removed,
• show your handle, a screenshot, and a description of the app,
• let people remix it under that license.

You keep ownership of your work. We may decline or remove any listing at our discretion. Copies people have already remixed under the license remain theirs.

Removal and copyright complaints

If an app is listed without its maker's permission, or you believe a listing infringes your rights, use the contact form and choose "Remove or change a listing". Include the listing's link and why it should come down. We act promptly and take listings down while we look into it.

No warranty

The site, the previews, and the listed apps are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, makebase is not liable for any loss arising from using the site, the previews, or any listed app.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
