About makebase
Start from something that works.
AI building tools made it easy to start an app from a blank prompt. It's still hard to start from something good. makebase is a gallery of real, working web apps. You can try each one in your browser, see exactly who made it and where its code lives, and open it in your own builder as a starting point.
Today the gallery has 30 apps: open-source favorites and apps built with AI tools. Every one runs live on its page.
What we hold to
- Credit is not optional. Every listing names its maker, links to the source, and shows its license.
- Only what we're allowed to share. An app is listed only with a verified open-source license, or with its maker's permission.
- Working apps, not prompts. We don't generate apps from a description. Everything here already runs.
- Safe to try. Previews run in a locked sandbox on a separate domain.
- No accounts, no cookies, no ads. See the privacy policy.
- Free to browse, remix, and get listed.
Who runs it
makebase is built and run by a small independent team. We review what gets listed and fix broken links, and we read every message.
